Youth Red Cross wing Sharavathi Dental College and Hospital organized a 2-day value added course on Management of emergencies in Dental practice for interns and postgraduates on 25th and 26th September 2023. Dr Kumar V.L.S., master trainer on emergency and first aid at Indian Red Cross Society and an alumnus of SDCH, was the guest speaker. The program was inaugurated by our beloved Principal Dr Samrat M.R., guest speaker Dr Kumar V.L.S., and Program officer, Youth red cross wing, Dr Gururaju C.R.
Dr Kumar spoke in detail about D-R-A-B-C used in resuscitation of the patient and demonstrated the techniques on the mannequin. He also explained about the management of fractures, bleeding and first aid management of wounds. Dr Gururaju C.R., delivered a talk on emergency drugs which are needed in the dental office.
The students actively participated and practiced the techniques on the mannequin. Dr Chaitra M.P., reader, Department of Periodontics delivered the vote of thanks. A post course test was given to the students and certificates were provided.
